On July 18, 2020, Argentina’s Executive Power extended until August 2, 2020, the mandatory and preventive social isolation aimed at slowing the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.

In accordance with the Government decision, the National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI) issued Resolution 078/2020 extending the suspension of all legal terms in progress from July 18, 2020, until August 2, 2020. INPI has established a care customer service with minimum guards and a shift system. After obtaining an appointment via email, the user must respect the assigned shift schedule and comply with social distancing and sanitary regulations. The Office also has available all its electronic platforms for several processes.

The Argentine Supreme Court has lifted its extraordinary recess for the Supreme Court, for the Oral Courts and for the National and Federal Chambers, while extending the extraordinary recess for the Courts of First Instance from July 18 to July 26, 2020. Nevertheless, all procedural deadlines will continue to be suspended until August 3, 2020, and will automatically resume on August 4, 2020.
