Electronic signature in Honduras has a growth of 300 percent

The Vice President of Commerce of Grupo Vision, Óscar Castro, announced that the use of the electronic signature in Honduras had a growth of 300 percent since the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Grupo Vision provides information and communication technologies solutions for government institutions and since January 2020 its Tecnisign business supplies the digital signature service in Honduras by the authorities of the General Directorate of Intellectual Property (DGPI). This is the initial exclusive business that attains the qualification to operate in the nation and also looks for to reach companies and people that execute several nationwide and international treatments. At the general public level, the Reserve bank of Honduras (BCH) has an electronic signature qualification by the DIGEPIH.

“We recognize the responsibility of being the first business accredited to provide qualification services, because we are in an significantly linked globe, where the fostering of a electronic lifestyle is a fact," said Jonathan Schacher, representative of the Vision Group, to which Tecnising belongs.

The Law on Electronic Signatures was approved in Honduras through Decree number 149-2103, issued on December 11, 2013. The law establishes that electronic signatures have the same validity as a handwritten signature.
