A Utah theme park called Evermore sued Taylor Swift for trademark infringement, alleging the American singer-songwriter latest album title has confused guests and detrimentally affected its page ranking on Internet search engines.Released on December 11, 2020, Evermore is the ninth studio album by Swift.
The lawsuit, filed in a US District Court in Utah, also alleges that Swift’s album infringes on the theme park’s merchandise designs and artwork for the original soundtracks it has released.
Swift’s legal team has responded to the lawsuit, dismissing it in a statement as baseless, frivolous and irresponsible. Also, in a letter filed in court, the singer’s representatives stated that the theme park’s sale of “small dragon eggs, guild patches and a small dragon mount” are not similar to the merchandise items being sold on Swift’s website.
