Leticia Gómez Hernández, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Venezuela, highlighted the actions the Government is developing in order to promote local and international tourism to alleviate the economic impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Gómez Hernández, the Ministry of Tourism is establishing a first step strategy focused on local tourism, mainly by guaranteeing Venezuelans all sanitary measures to move throughout different cities in the country. As for foreigns visitors, Gómez Hernández stated there is a long-term plan which will be based on positioning Venezuela as a healthy, secure, diverse and natural destination on a post COVID-19 world.
The first platform for such goal will be the International Tourism Fair of Venezuela (Fitven 2021), which its date is still to be decided and where the Government hopes to put together public institutions and authorities with players from the international tourism industry.
